Network Tokenization Platform
A PCI DSS-compliant platform that replaces stored card numbers with network tokens across all four major card networks.
The challenge
Merchants that store cards on file lose revenue every time a card is reissued, expires or looks risky to the issuer. Network tokens fix much of this: the card network keeps the token current and adds a fresh cryptogram to every transaction. But each network has its own token service, APIs and certification process, so supporting all four means four integrations that must behave as one.
What we built
A single tokenization platform for a US payments-infrastructure company. It provisions and manages network tokens across Visa Token Service, Mastercard MDES and Secure Card on File, Discover Tokenization and American Express. Merchants integrate once and get every network.
How it works
- One API for provisioning, cryptogram requests and token status, with a network-specific adapter behind it for each scheme
- Lifecycle events from the networks (card updated, suspended, deleted) processed asynchronously and applied to the right merchant token
- Card numbers held only where strictly necessary, inside the PCI DSS boundary; tokens used everywhere else
- Idempotency keys, retries and a complete event history, so no lifecycle update is lost or applied twice
Key capabilities
- Token provisioning and lifecycle management across four networks
- Per-transaction cryptograms
- Network lifecycle notifications
- Card metadata and art
- Network onboarding and certification support

Multi-Network Account Updater
One account-updater service spanning Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express, keeping stored cards current before they fail.
